L'ESTRANGE RESEARCHWELCOMEL'Estrange Research is an independent, Australian-owned market research consultancy which was established in Sydney in 1988. Our focus is on the appropriate, strategic and timely application of research tools and market information to help clients solve their business problems, in their efforts to achieve and sustain competitive market advantage. RESEARCH-BASED INSIGHTS FOR SOUND BUSINESS DECISIONS
OUR APPROACHCUSTOMISED STUDIESWe specialise in devising and conducting customised studies to address clients' specific and individual needs, as distinct from "off-the-hook" products and services. "KNOW OUR CLIENT"As part of this process we make a concerted effort upfront to understand your business, the industry in which it competes, and your business goals. It is only through "knowing our client", and knowing how clients are going to use the information, that we believe the research will be appropriately structured, leading to findings which can then be used effectively and efficiently. GETTING TO THE RIGHT INFORMATION SOURCEWe draw on a range of qualitative and quantitative research techniques and processes such as focus groups, mini-groups, in-depth interviews, paired-depth interviews, online research, facilitated workshops, phone interviews, face-to-face interviews, mystery shopper, and accompanied shop exercises. In order to maximise compliance from our prospective research participants, and thus maximise the quality of the research output, we "fish where the fish are", and go to them, rather than expecting them to always come to us. For example, we've interviewed passengers on planes, taken car drivers to petrol stations, taken classical music enthusiasts to concerts at the Sydney and Melbourne Opera Houses, and we've interviewed sunscreen users at the beach. EIGHT - LEARNING FORUMSEight is a communications team that focuses on helping organizations and their people lift their energy, performance, and confidence levels by challenging their thinking, their assumptions, and the ways in which they perceive themselves and their lives at home, at work. Eight is differentiated from other learning programs by its judicious use of research insights to help frame the forums and workshops. Your forum leaders are Amanda L'Estrange and Richard Sauerman. YOUR TEAMAMANDA L'ESTRANGEBScPsych (Hons) Managing Director, QPMR Amanda L'Estrange has over twenty years' experience in the market research industry. Amanda is one of the few researchers in Australia who has significant breadth of exposure to market research issues as she has worked in the industry in various capacities from an academic, client, supplier, and advertising agency perspective. Amanda has undertaken projects at a national and international level, and in 1998 - 1999 worked in HK, where she developed further experience of the Asian market. Prior to establishing L'Estrange Research in 1988, Amanda was Director, Added Value Group, Sydney, Director of Research at McCann-Erickson Advertising in Sydney, Project Director at Woolcott Research, Market Research Analyst at Colgate Palmolive, and Tutor in Psychology at UNSW. She is a Member of the Market Research Society of Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Councillor of Women Chiefs of Enterprises International (WCEI). Amanda has been a presenter at workshops, seminars, and training sessions for MRSA, AFA, George Patterson Bates, and UNSW, amongst others. RICHARD SAUERMANRichard is a motivational and learning development specialist. He has a Master Degree in Literary Theory. Passionate about motivating and inspiring people, his interests extend to music and the visual arts. He has over 15 years experience in the communications business at multi-national advertising agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, DDB, and McCann-Erickson. OTHER MEMBERSAt L'Estrange Research rather than employ full-time researchers who are expected to be equally competent across all types of research techniques across a huge variety of industry sectors, we engage the services of consultants on a case-by-case basis who are specialists in their fields. They not only have current industry knowledge, but the passion, enthusiasm, and insight that will make the difference between an "interesting" piece of research information, as distinct from an "insightful" and "actionable" piece of research information. So, if you're a healthcare and pharmaceuticals organisation, we assign a consultant who is particularly adept at interviewing medical practitioners, and under-standing and speaking their "language", rather than someone whose previous experience has only been with soft drinks, snack foods, and cereals. |
